Beckham's Boots for Sale

The singer bought the boots at a charity auction held at a garden party at the footballer's Hertfordshire residence just before the 2002 World Cup.

He paid £29,000 pounds for the red and white Adidas boots embroidered with "No.7, Beckham" and the name of the midfielder's first son Brooklyn on the tongue.

They are autographed: "To Mick, Best Wishes, David Beckham 7".

Hucknall is a keen collector of football memorabelia but is now scaling back his vast collection.

The Beckham boots are expected to sell for between £3,000 and £5,000 when they go under the hammer at auction.

Maldini backs Beckham

AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini has defended David Beckham's motivations for wanting to join the Rossoneri in the winter transfer window.

The England midfielder is negotiating a short loan move to the Italian giants from the Los Angeles Galaxy during the MLS off-season.

Beckham claims his main reason for wanting to play a few months in Serie A next year is to maintain his fitness and not just to earn more England call-ups.

"Beckham is coming here to train, to remain in good form and to still be an important part of his national team," Maldini said.

Beckham in England World Cup Bid Team

Current and former England internationals David Beckham and John Barnes have been appointed vice-presidents for England's 2018 World Cup bid.

The pair will support the newly-formed executive board along with further vice-presidents soon to be announced and their appointments reflect an initial wave of ambassadorial roles as England 2018 Ltd continues to prepare its bid to stage the tournament in 10 years' time.

"I'm proud to be part of the FA's 2018 World Cup bid and will do everything I can to help bring the tournament to England," Beckham told thefa.com.

Lampard Backs Beckham

Chelsea and England midfielder believes former national captain David Beckham still has a tremendous squad role to play, irregardless of whether he features on the pitch or not.

Frank Lampard is of the impression that this infectious spirit is one of the reasons why Beckham still has a key role to play within the England camp.

Lampard told Sky Sports: "For David Beckham to equal Bobby Charlton's number of caps is fantastic. He has been tremendous for the country over so many years."

Beckham gets Book-ed

David Beckham is lending his name to a series of children’s books targeting seven year olds. The books will be set in Beckham's London football academy and centered around what a group of young soccer stars get up to both on and off the field.

In addition to the stories, the books will also have tips, a pull-out tactics board and statistics on the game for young soccer fans.

The first as yet untitled book in the series is due to be released in June 2009 but publishers say the books will not be written by Beckham.

Beckham Happy on Bench

David Beckham insists he is happy to play a minor role for England in their attempts to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Beckham has 105 caps to his name but has found his place under threat from a host of younger right-sided players, not least Arsenal teenager Theo Walcott who scored a hat-trick against Croatia in Beckham's place in Zagreb.

Beckham: Landon was Awesome

David Beckham lauded Landon Donovan’s performance after LA Galaxy’s 5-2 home win against DC United.

"I thought (his performance) was exceptional. But I've seen that a few times from Landon," said David Beckham "When he plays like that, no one can stop him. He's a goal scorer. He's a great finisher of the ball and we needed that."

LA Galaxy’s Peter Vagenas who came on in the second half to score on the other hand nearly left before he got on the pitch.

Beckham Salutes Walcott

DAVID Beckham's international career has had as many incarnations as his hairstyles, from bright young thing through inspirational captain to senior pro, but at 33 he finally seems ready to accept the status of a squad player.

Beckham's introduction in the 84th minute in place of Theo Walcott, 19, in Zagreb may be remembered as the beginning of the end, a symbolic moment when England's past recognised the coming of age of its future.

The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder is not ready to give up his place in the side, but he accepts opportunities may be limited.

Beckham wants to be Club Owner

David Beckham is open to the prospect of buying into a football club once his playing days come to an end.

Beckham already has a wide-ranging portfolio of business interests outside of his playing career, including a series of coaching schools.

The former England skipper continues to defy his doubters by forcing his way into Fabio Capello’s squad despite plying his week-to-week trade in MLS, but he does admit that approaching retirement has given him food for thought.
