BECKHAM SIGNS FOR LA GALAXY! The biggest name in Major League Soccer will likely make his much anticipated debut Aug. 5 in Toronto. David Beckham, who recently signed a $250-million deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy, is slated to play his first MLS game against the expansion Toronto FC, according to the league schedule released Tuesday. The schedule ensures the former England captain visits each city in the league. Beckham's transfer to the Galaxy was announced in January and he said he would move to the United States once his contract with his current club, Real Madrid, is up June 30. Though Toronto may be Beckham's first MLS game, it likely won't be his North American debut with the Galaxy. Los Angeles plays in the SuperLiga, an eight-team exhibition event between MLS and Mexican clubs, in July, and Beckham could make his debut there.
