BECKHAM WANTS ENGLAND RETURN
David Beckham has insisted he has no intention of retiring from international football.
The former England captain has not featured for his country since the World Cup finals, as new manager Steve McClaren has opted to explore other options.
Beckham has come in from the wilderness at Real Madrid this month and he produced an impressive display as the Spanish giants beat Bayern Munich 3-2 on Tuesday.
The midfielder's display drew praise from his coach Fabio Capello, but McClaren was not at the Bernabeu.
There have been calls for Beckham to be restored to the England squad and he has left the door open for an international return.
"My ambition has never changed since the age of 13," he told Sky Sports News. "I have always wanted to play for my country and always will be available for my country whether I am in Spain for the next four months or in Los Angeles.
"I am available for my country, everyone knows how passionate I am about that and I am always available. The most important thing is that I am out and playing."
England face crunch Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra next month and Beckham is keen for The Three Lions to make progress.
"For me I hope the England team goes through as quick as possible, there are some great players," he added.
