BECKHAM LAUDS SOLSKJAER AS UNITED MANAGER

David Beckham has praised Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the job he's doing at the club amidst the constant criticisms from fans and other football stakeholders. David Beckham and Solskjaer have been friends since their time as Manchester United players around two decades ago.

According to David Beckham, Solskjaer is doing an incredible job as the Manchester United manager and that the criticisms are expected due to the past glory of the club.

David Beckham stated that fans will always criticise Solskjaeras they compare his managerial reign to the hugely successful and trophy laden one enjoyed under Sir Alex Ferguson. David Beckham is the co-owner of Inter Miami in the MLS (Major League Soccer) and the Manchester United legend spoke to ESPN about his friend Solskjaer and former club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spent just one full season as the Manchester United manager. The Norwegian tactician is in his second full season at the club following his appointment as the replacement for the sacked Jose Mourinho during the 2018/19 season. He has not won any major trophy during his time as the Manchester United manager. Another possible trophy hunt was ended at the weekend as a result of the FA Cup exit at the hands of Leicester City.

Solskjaer and his players were beaten by hosts Leicester City in their FA Cup quarterfinal tie. Super Eagles attacker Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice to lead the Foxes to a 3-1 victory over Manchester United. In addition to the brace from the Nigerian player, YouriTielemans also scored for Leicester City who will now face Southampton in the last four of the FA Cup for this season. With the FA Cup trophy now out of reach for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, the Europa League represents the only avenue to end the Red Devils’ trophyless run. They face Granada in the quarterfinals of the competition.
