BECKHAM WELCOMES POCHETTINO TO PSG

In what came as a surprise to many and a shock to others, Paris Saint-Germain have finally announced the capture of former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as the French club's new manager.

The Paris-based club were in the hunt for a new head coach after dismissing Thomas Tuchel some days ago but they have now secured the signing of their main target.

Pochettino will be excited and eager to begin work with the new squad he has inherited from his predecessor and will relish the chance to work with the likes of Neymar and Mbappe who both helped the club reach the final of the UEFA Champions League last term - they are amongst the favourites to win this time around too, with Betiton giving them short odds after successfully negotiating a group containing both RB Leipzig and Manchester United.

Since the official announcement of Pochettino was made as the new PSG manager, many people have confirmed their support of the decision and have also wished him well; including the club's former player David Beckham.

The former England midfielder, despite spending such a short time as a player at the club still holds Paris Saint-Germain close to his heart and continues to follow recent developments and happenings around his old club.

Beckham is also a certified fan of Pochettino, as he has often made his admiration of the Argentine boss public. He even admitted in 2019 that he wished he had played under Pochettino when he was still manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

And now, the former Manchester United midfielder took to social media to announce the signing of Poch, while also sending him a warm welcome. In his Instagram post, Beckham posted a picture of Pochettino in his PSG kit during his playing days, using the caption as a welcome phrase. "Welcome home my friend" was what he used as the caption.

Pochettino will officially begin work at Paris Saint-Germain this week as he prepares his side for their league fixture against AS Saint-Etienne.
