David Beckham excited after seeing Marcus Rashford

David Beckham revealed his excitement at seeing youngster Marcus Rashford score in the Manchester derby to help United record a 1-0 win over their arch rivals.

There have been doubts aboutRashford’s made in the first-team after the striker went through a run of five matches without a goal. Prior to this barren run, he had started his United career in spectacular fashion after scoring in his opening two games. One of those matches was against Arsenal after the single-handedly inspired a 3-2 win. His ability to score in games where United need to win without fail has been seen as the mark of a great player.

Beckham came through the ranks at United just like Rashford. Regarded as one of the finest midfielders of his generation, the England star went on to play for the likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Paris St Germain before recently retiring from the game. Now he is looking to enter into football ownership by starting a franchise in the MLS. United midfielder Juan Mata agreed that Rashford is fast becoming a great player for the club. However, he says that people should avoid putting too much pressure on the young shoulders. The 18-year-old now has five goals in eight appearances for United.

“When a young kid that loves the club he is at and loves the game he is playing this is what you get... The excitement in Marcus's face after scoring against our rivals is exactly what a kid his age should look like. It's refreshing and pleasing to see... Congrats to Marcus on another great day,” said Beckham. “Marcus showed again that he is a great player in the making. We all believe in him, although we must remember that he's still very young and he's just arrived in the first team,” said Mata.
